congrats on making the decision that will start the next chapter of your life. I hope to be following in your wake within the next 3.5 years. we will be 46 at the time of expected departure. best wishes in getting everything sold and safe waters ahead.

I would suggest a plan B (and maybe also half a plan C ) - just in case you or the wife (or both ) don't enjoy the reality or the way you have approached it needs tweaking..........or simply the 24/7 thing in a small confine - IME that one is not a given, and not something that can really be learnt.

FWIW I always find having an exit plan in advance helpful as funnily enough permits me to commit to things better, or at least put up with stuff / people longer (without going postal ) - but I do really hate the feeling of being "trapped", whether on a boat or ashore..........with people
