Its the same boat but it wasn't mine back then...it was my mom and dads.
In 2003 I bought her from them.
Thats why I'm so attached to her, and was willing to go to such great lengths to save her....lots of wonderful memories of excellent time spent with mom and dad and friends...we were all so young and fit....didnt know anything...but were young and fit
It was my hope to share the same experience with my two girls...but I'd better get cracking, they grow so fast.

I will admit to being scared ****-less the first time I saw the phosphorescences monster following me on a night watch....Damn!

Also the first time a flying fish hits your foot in the middle of the night when you think your all alone....minding your own bussines...in the dark!

The original boat had no cockpit at all...you just sat up on the aft deck...completly exposed.

One time on a long passage I was all alone. So what I did to pass the time was proceed to get black out drunk......and when I woke up I was circumcized. When I came too there was blood all over my hands, pants and floor and I realized what I had done....with the very knife I used to fillet my catch the night before! Top That!!!

Well this is kinda gross, and I have never ever told anybody about it so why not the entire planet now on this forum.

I was diving with a dive club in mexico on one of the islands near Bahia de Los Angelos (google it). We were all in the water when I had a sudden call from nature (coulda been the mexican food). I was in gut wrenching pain and needed a solution. I came up and looked around. No non exposed sites to be found anywhere. I waited and then climbed out of the water and up onto the rocky shore. Removed all my dive gear and took care of business and then suited back up. I was with at least 20 other divers, how no one ever saw me is amazing at least nobody said anything. OK there, now the world knows.

What a bunch of cowards!

How about floating on your back and doing a spouting whale imitation?

Man, I've been wanting to brag about that for years!

Well, I sailed to the point were it was "m", then I woke up my crew, which was a "s" thing to do, given the inclement weather.

So, in this respect, sailing can be at times a s&m sport ;-)

Wow there is a whole range of human activity to consider.
I must be boring. Catching fish, scrubbing the deck, washing clothes, getting tanned, navigating. All the normal day to day stuff one does while at sea. I love watching the dolphins playing with the boat at night.

pirate

Racing dumps over the stern... Singing and dancing for the Dolphins... jumping over the side to race a turtle (no wind for 3 days)... sail 300 miles of course Whale watching.. awesome... see a new born Dolphin.. even more awesome... especially when Mom & Dad brought him over to show him off.. (another period of no wind for days)... made me cry... but being alone at sea can do that..
Oh.. nearly forgot.... making Molotov Cocktails... after 37 days alone on my first crossing I was convinced the boat coming up behind me was full of Pirates looking to steal my boat...

So far I've been sailing a grand total of 4 times. The worst I've done is lost my nice baseball cap. I was at the wheel and the skipper told me we could circle and grab it, but it was next to a crab trap. I couldn't see well with the way the dodger was rigged but put us on the course I thought best. The skipper grabbed the wheel when we were close because he didn't like how close we were to the crab trap and we ended up running over my poor lost hat.

The other mistake I think I made was harassing the skipper about the very severely twisted mainsail in my beginner's attempt to figure out sail trim. I was promptly told to go buy a racing boat.

Don't worry, give me a few years and I'm sure I'll come up with some better material for this thread.
