It is certainly good enough for me. My German was forgoten along with my German ex-wife. Every once in a while, I will see it written and remember a phrase or two. I guess I would remember real fast if I were sinking in German waters

I hear that German is a easy language to learn. Cause it's very close to the English langauge?

At least that's what I heard!!

A lot of English words are very similar to German and did come from the same roots as German words. But German is hard to learn. Because it has so many dielects (spell?) If you saw the photo of the Girl and guy eating the Rock Oysters in the link I gave in another post, They are both German. Stefan comes fromt he Black Forrestarea. Alex comes from somewhere else, I am not sure. But they often had aas much trouble trying to understand each other as they did us. It was most strange.
But then I suppose, we speak English, Ozies speak a different English, Americans speak something compleatly different and yet it is supposed to be english. Our words maybe the same, but are also completely different at times.

Depends if you are in the deep south. Understanding some of them folks can be challenging?

That also goes for some of the black people. They can sure say some of the craziest things. And odd to understand them too, sometimes?
