'Makai' Has Been Sold - Depression Strikes !

Makai has been sold.

I have been told that the happiest day in a sailorís life is when he getís his boat and the second is when he sells it. Well I am here to say that I donít believe that. This last couple of weeks with the sale agreement and closing work has been the most depressing time that I can remember. Now that the deal is done and she is no longer ours I feel like I have been kicked in the gut, hard!

We will start are search for the new boat (yes a bigger cat) next year and I hope the hunt will bring me out of this, but it will be a long summer or two without my own boat.

I do wish the new owners fair winds and fine seas and I that Makai will take as good a care of them as she did with us.

are you looking for a 42-44' or bigger? Just curious after spending time on a 38' if you found it "really small", "kinda small", or "just got more stuff to store now small".

I have been on your Maxim 380 after launch and before in the factory and I can understand the feeling, you had a good cat, I am sure that William C will also treat your boat with good care. good luck in finding a good new cat

Thanks for the cheering up. Everything helps. It actually went to someone else, who I suspect will have great fun with her.

We are actually looking for something 45-50. We had no problems with the size of Makai 38 was good, but we just want something a little bigger to increase the live aboard and crew (guest) space.
