It is certainly easy to find at least as many articles debunking the "lunacy myth" as there are papers supporting it. Just talk to anyone who works in a large public facility that deals with the results (hospitals, jails, and morgues) and they will almost universally share the same empirical evidence with you. Several of my wife's co-workers have been long time non-believers, and even they have had to admit the truth eventually, after years of arguing about it. If you work with it it ends up staring you in the face and can't be denied. Now explaining why is a whole different matter...

it would be either day or night on the moon,but you would have lots of other moons/planets to choose from in various states of umbra
