File this under...
the stupid human tricks while boating. Well sorta. Got my bell rung when I fell off the back of the boat which is on the trailer in our back yard. Put the step ladder up onto the swim platform and when I got near the top (about 6 feet up) and the ladder slipped and down I went hard. Rolled around for a bit, got up seemed ok, few scratches, then awhile later couldn't remember squat. Couldn't remember moving the boat, falling, what day it was, nadda! *lol* Knottygirlz dragged me to the hospital to get my noggin' checked out. It all started to come back to me on the way to the hospital. All ok now I guess! I can understand doing this once but this was the second time!

Glad to hear you are OK. If it is any consolation I walked off the dock while looking at an Islander one time.

At least you landed on your head. It could have been worse. It's always the dumb stuff that gets you. You get on land and think you can't drown so you figure it's no problem. Glad we ddin't lose you! Seems to me that woman saved you more than once. I wouldn't let her get away.

Is the swim platform OK?
Seriously, that sounds like a bad fall. Glad you are OK.
Last week the boat was on the ramp and I needed to get in. I tried the ladder amidships but didn't like the angle (leaning left). I then put the ladder against the bow so the feet of the ladder were level. As I neared the top it was clear there was one point of contact on the ladder and the bow. A couple of more feet and it could have swung off port or starboard. I smartened up and put it back on the side. The stupid part was "hooking" one leg of the ladder around a stanchion so it wouldn't slide down the ramp.
Oh, well...

Ladders :(
It seems ladders are one of the worst. My wife has slipped down the gangway twice now. One of the guys at work doing a home project fell with a running skilsaw that cost him a couple nice scares across his forearm and messed up his tattoo's.
And for my self I stepped off a ladder in the garage onto some hubcaps and just happen to have a claw hammer in my hand. We both hit the floor and the hammer bounced up and caught me right in the eyebrow.
Hang in there Rick you'll have more adventures to come.

Wile on the subject of ladders... I see many folks in the yard using the folding type which are very handy. However if it is 10 years old and made by KRAUSE and the locking clips are RED throw it away! The locking clips are cast zink and will fail. KRAUSE USA is in bankrupsy court and the German parent company(Also Krause)is not interested in discussing the issue. I fell 10 ft when mine collapsed. Free ride to the Hospital and a broken Back! The clips were clearly sheared.
These ladders were recalled in Canada but not in the US. The new versions have steel locking clips and look to be OK. CHECK YOUR FOLDING LADDERS!

I haven't fallen from the boat yet. But I did fall from a significant height onto concrete as a kid. I was trying to be a "big boy" and helping my Dad paint the house. I was painting under an eve, standing on a porch roof. One second I am painting, the next I am picking myself up off the concrete. I don't remember anything in between. I didn't feel hurt in anyway, just a little stunned and confused as to what happend, as the roof had suddenly become hard ground and I couldn't work out how.
Of course, that probably answers a lot of questions many of you have about me ;-) :-)

Just make sure you do not siphon the holding tank by mistake!
