Re: Docking like a boss :)

Thats awsome. The only thing he did wrong was cut the engine before tying off. Someone had to say it :-D

Re: Docking like a boss :)

I usually shut my engine off before tied down or even fully in the slip. I do this in my suv coming home to the driveway and I even set the parking brake and get out of the loader at work while its slowly coming to a stop. It's probably an awful idea but I just feel so cool doing it.

Docking like a boss :)

At the last job, a good locomotive engineer would shut down the main mover, all the breakers, grab his grip (bag of belongings) and tie up the hand brake thusly bringing the loco to a stop. Finesse!
These days i take a wee bit of pride of coasting into a stub track with the main mover off--the railroad equivalent of a dead stick landing.
