I thought I might throw a waterproof disposable camera in the emergency grab bag after reading this. Something to show the insurance company.

Oddly enough, pull and check a keel boat or two every few years didn't make it onto his "Lessons learned" list. I assume the boat had a bolted on keel. It is hard to imagine loosing an integral glass keel this way.

Rereading, I see he checked his keel bolts from inside the boat. Problem is, it is corrosion at the point where the keel joins the hull that destroys keel bolts. He doesn't say who made his boat, how old it is, what it was made of, etc.
