I've implemented a "fossil fuel appreciation month" in the UP so we can pump desperately needed CO2 into the atmosphere. The additional CO2 will result in the amplification of atmospheric H2O (our primary greenhouse gas) resulting in a warm blanket sufficient to turn the year of our winter into spring and then summer.

I often ask myself, "What would Chancy Gardner do?"

AAAAAAHHH...sorry Mike I lost my head. Planning a dive in Superior on Saturday. We have seen ice in the pressure ridges that goes over 100 ft deep.

As cold as it is, enough people are already pumping CO2 into the atmosphere just trying to heat their homes with fuel oils and gas along with the stink of the wood burners.

It was 16 in Virginia this morning. The 13 liter diesel was pumping serious exhaust into the atmosphere!! At least now I'm in Georgia, so it won't be as bad. If anyone sees Puxatawney Phil....head shots are suggested!!!

No, not here in Thailand! But we are having a drought and could use some rain.

Re: Anyone Else Tired of Winter?

It was a particularly cold and snowy winter this year in New England, I'm still trying to figure out why the Pilgrims decided to escape to this neck of the woods, possibly not enough persecution in jolly old England.
I went out a couple of weeks ago to work on the boat when the weather was "warmer" since the time to splashing is fast approaching but had to shovel two feet of snow off the deck and out of the cockpit before I could do anything. I'm soooo ready for this winter to end, especially since we're only a couple seasons away from stepping off.
Of course I still love the winter, just not as enthusiastically as I used to, yeah, I still go out for walks in the blizzards and love it, used to keep my boat in until almost Christmas and always had some hardcore friends to sail with.
I can feel summer coming, the wind direction is changing, I can feel it, of course right now we're having a NorEaster with 60 knot winds, this one just doesn't want to let go. Makes the warm weather seem that much sweeter.
I'm ready.

Re: Anyone Else Tired of Winter?

At our club, they're starting to worry whether our small harbour will be free of ice by launch (end of April). The running joke is that we'll save on cranes, we'll just drag the boats on cradles to their slips, and figure out how to retrieve the cradles once the ice melts.

This is a picture of my slip from last weekend. Don't think I'll try to drag my boat over the ice.

I humbly apologize.

We stopped inviting one particular person to BBQ's because it rained every single time they came.... Just Sayin'

If anybody has the time and skillz... a side by side of the rodent and Nova Scotia man both painted with laser sights would be entertaining!

This is brilliant... Find a volunteer to do it this year!

Re: Anyone Else Tired of Winter?

Great sailing on the chesapeake last weekend and its perfect now. If you wait for it to be above 60 with wind but not too much and no storms forecast no rain you might sail a few days in June.
