1st Boat lesson

Lost the mast today. Seems the forestay didn't stay.
Second nicopress I have had break at the connection. The first was on the swing keel this one was were the rolling furling connected to the turnbuckle.

When buying a used boat (unless you KNOW the history) change the standing rigging.

I was reminded of used cars. First change all fluids, then all hoses, then all belts.

Anybody know a good place to get swagless fittings and wire (reasonably priced) LOL

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Fortunately we did not lose the mast.

Another rule of mine - if one thing in a system breaks, fix everything in the system.

We lost a chain plate fitting. We now have all new standing rigging, chain plates, backstay and forestay fittings.

Hope your damage is not too $$$.
