It's beginning to look like they are stopping in Cabo.

Re: zeehag on the Move

They pulled into Cabo marina about 6:15 local. Appears to have been a nice uneventful sail (or motor).

And back out in 45 min. If you drill down on the zoom control, it looks like she transported the Solitary Bird across land by the Lands End lighthouse. Clearly, the coodinates the SPOT transmits as your location are +/- a big amount.

The spot only connects dots of information in 10 minute intervals. It's not a continuous track. Thus you can appear to pass thru things when you wrap around something faster than it updates.

Well, she's headed due east to MAZ now. Maybe she dropped Juan off and is single handing to MAZ. She really wants to see and be with her friends there. I hope they have been following her spot and have a big party with lots of good food and a VERY cold cervza for her when she docks.

Re: zeehag on the Move

Looks like a fuel stop to me. The fuel dock is located almost exactly where #40 to #44 is. I don't know what time they open but it is early b/c of fishing boats.

Re: zeehag on the Move

Checking UGRIB, looks like this leg will be motoring. Winds NE shifting to NW and generally 7kts or less. She'll need the aux., but should be a gentle sail.

Re: zeehag on the Move

My experience with Cabo was that it's not to cruisier friendly. And I arrived the week following the Baha ha ha. The town caters to Sports fishing boats, condo owners , and cruise ships. Unless you have a reservation with the marina it's difficult to get a slip, The fuel dock is pick a number and wait. The anchorage outside the harbor can be crowded, unless you anchor in 100 feet of water.

That was before the financial meltdown. II liked San Jose del Cabo better.

This isn't Cape Horn. Off Los Cabos, 1nm is plenty. You want to be just far enough out that you don't have to deal with the zillion pangas taking tourists for glass-bottomed boat rides.
