I've probably spent too much time in Aberdeen, for me I like Stavanger, summer more than winter, plus for me, its better tax wise that I'm working out of Stavanger and not Aberdeen

Sounds like browsing in Southampton but buying in Paris might because good route for us.

Nigel, I do believe you are the only person I have ever heard discuss Norwegian tax favorably. ;-)

Ahh, it works like this, I work at sea, and under UK legislation, if I am out of the UK/outside the 12 mile limit, for more than 183 days per year, I get to be tax exempt.
If I'm on a boat propping up the wall in Aberdeen Harbour, thats not doing me any good at all, so much rather be propping up the wall in Stavanger if working North Sea. This trip its off to Jamaica

I have been at Düsseldorf once years ago.
I found it a great show (indoor) but the interests are not completely focused on sailing boats. It was very crowded.

Monaco is great when interested in motor yachts (all outdoor). They declare the last year show as the best they ever had.
Hotels are very expensive or if not they are off standard. Accommodations couple of miles away (direction Nice) are better alternatives.
