We'll simply have to agree to disagree then. Sorry about that. 30' is less than 50'. The locals are glad you are coming to the show, but we'd really like to be able to get in and out.

For what it's worth many locals have a different view than you - I've heard a lot of grumping at Davis' about insufficient enforcement of the 50' rule.

Somewhere in the middle probably is the right answer.

Is anyone interested in having a forum get together in Annapolis? Maybe dinner on Saturday night or lunch on Sunday?

I'd be up for it, depending on when and where.

Already planning on meeting up with a few other CF and FB friends throughout the weekend.

Fri or possibly Sat night I think work best for me at this point.

I don't arrive until very late on Friday night. I'm wide open as to where to meet. I've not been there very often. Do you have any favorites?

SailNet has a gathering at Port Annapolis on Friday night.

How about CF at the Eastport Yacht Club Boat Show Bash on Saturday night? the big yellow lift along the dock is a good meeting point.

That is a plan. What time do you want to meet?

That's a great idea! Not sure if we'll be around (or if you'd want us to be!) but if we are we'll try to meet there. I'll print a sign that says Cruiser's Forum so we won't look like we're just loitering since the CF burgee's are not for sale...

But, just to clarify, you're talking about the SAIL boat show on the 9th, right, not the Power boat show the next weekend?

Do you mean in the cove just to the South of Carr Creek? It doesn't look nearly as well protected as some of the other suggestions. Also a longer dinghy ride than the other spots, except maybe Lake Ogleton, but not much short and probably a bumpier ride than there?

Yes, RiverRat. Sail! But I have no problem with power boaters, as long as they're not the weekend warrior, blast into an anchorage at full throttle type.

Of course the sailboat show.

LOL I wonder how hard it was for you not to add DUH! to that?

As my husband and I are VERY new to this and we don't have either a power boat or a sailboat (I'm not counting the pontoon boat), I just wanted to make sure we weren't standing there alone the wrong week waiting forlornly for company.

It'd be a great opportunity to meet some real cruisers in person.

What time? I've never been to the party there. Do we want to meet and have dinner there or meet after dinner?

Are you all meeting during the Eastport yacht club bash? It is from 6-11.

I am volunteering at that party! Come say hello to me! I would love to meet other CF-ers!

BTW- they will have lots of food/drink/entertainment. Should be fun!
