Beneteau,
Jeanneau, Monte Carlo, Prestige, CNB,
Lagoon, Ostroda, BH, IRM, O'Hara, Glastron, Four Winns, Wellcraft, Scarab.
All now owned by
Beneteau with the acquisition of the Rec Holdings Brands. Not especially huge news in industry consolidation but it is a bit to US
boat manufacturing.
Also, now Beneteau's powerboat volume exceeds their sailboat volume. Most are not aware either how much of their business is housing and mobile homes.
Also, they wanted to get into smaller powerboats but targeting a US market needed to build them in the US. Look for smaller Beneteau and
Jeanneau models. And look for some of their other boats to perhaps be built in Cadillac.
Beneteau is still small compared to builders like Benetti and Ferretti but an aggressive move on their part to increase their size nearly 15%. Also, interesting to see a move like this by a company that hasn't been making much
money as the
boat side of Beneteau is still losing
money.
