Yep, long and slender. You do mean the tri and not Ms. Bardot?

Rogue wave? Maybe that's just the cover story. Might have actually been rammed by a whale. A jealous one at that. The lines forward do make it look like one IMO.

Why didn't Captain Watson's Sailing Master point out that the Bridgie Bardot (and it's predecessor the Ady Gil) were specifically designed to circumnavigate in equatorial waters using the canals, and that "going south" could mean just that?

Re: Wave rips famous trimaran

I don't really agree with the whale hunt, but Paul Watson and his Sea Shepard group are about as close as terrorists as it gets without using bombs. Where the heck does he get off imposing his moral values on others in the manner they do?

Recklessly endangering lives on the high seas can't be sanctioned, even if you are a great salesman for your cause.

The man is an ego-maniac and has no place in any ocean I want to see.

And just in case anyone still gets wet dreams thinking of Bridget Bardot, she appears now a days as fragile as that boat.

As to the boat, well, if it was designed for more calm waters, then I presume being in the southern ocean would be rather like trying to drive a sports car off road/cross country--somethings gonna break eventually.
