Tropical Depression Forming off Bahamas

Wow, that's a long way north for a TD to be FORMING. Dont think it will grow too big...do you?

Quite more common than ya think. Sometimes off of South Carolina.

When I was in the Caribe I paid attention, havent for a while.... but seems like most formed as Tropical Waves clear down off the coast of Afrca.... Cant remember much more than a storm forming that far north.

For those who would even think about leaving East Coast ports for Bermuda or the Caribbean at this time of year, take a close look at this graphic.

Tropical Storm Bret presently has 60 knot winds, gusting to hurricane strength, and in the next couple of days will produce gusts to 75 knots.

You just don't wanna be out there now, and probably not before November 1 either.
