IF you're struggling to grasp the magnitude of Tropical Cyclone Yasi, consider this: it is so large it would almost cover the United States, most of Asia and large parts of Europe.

Thanks, Do you know where the weather station is on hammo? I have been watching the observations on bom.gov.au. But am curious to know the location of the annemometer.

Cheers

Very good video of the birth and path of yasi. You can see little anthony hit the coast and dissapate also. Its like a hand grenade preceding a nuke.

AFAIK (read it somewhere) the annemometer is near the airport at hamilton which would mean it's fairly exposed.

There seems to be a lot of weather sites using the equipment at the airport on Hamilton island, here is another one.
