Take that Aussies!

I have to brag that our little town (25,000) here in upstate New York sent our rowing girls down to Australia where they won the gold medal in the U19 Women's Coxed Eights, and they're now going for the School Girl's Coxed Eights on Sunday. Go Saratoga!

UPDATED: Saratoga Girls are International Champions, Now in Finals for Schoolgirl's 8-Saratoga Wire

Re: Take that Aussies!

I have no idea what they have been doing for training as we had quite a snow storm this week, and it is still winter here.

Re: Take that Aussies!

Exactly. You'd be used to rowing fast too if it got you out of the snow quicker.

Got to say that it did not make the news down here, but then, if we don't win, it rarely does, no matter what sport. Well done young ladies.

Coops.

When your practice shell is an ice breaker you get very strong.
Very Nice!

You mean where it took y'all 7 races to win using a much faster boat?

It's all good ribbing.

Great they won! I can just imagine the fund raising thats gone on in the town and school to pay their way Down Under.

Make sure you check them all onto the plane to go home... some of the Aussie boys may be trying to kidnap them.

Well done.
Now how do we get a good rugby team to go over and play that thing they call grid iron?

Not unless you want us to remind you the U.S. holds the advantage 7 - 1, including the last meeting.
