Re: Strictly Sail Miami impressions

The Gunboat was pretty cool. The only boat with a near constant line to get aboard. The accessories tent provided a lot of opportunities to talk to industry pros. Top down furling was well covered and that helped us make a final choice. We were very frustrated with the ticketing and overall management of the event. Very disconnected and confusing. The free seminars were mostly good but the paid on water we felt were of no value to anyone beyond a complete novice. The convention had tons of dinghies. But we got there at 6:30 on Sunday and half the vendors left because it was too slow for them. Bad business the way I see it. A couple of them lost our business. All-in-all we're glad we went...mostly to be around boats, out of the cold, and the great Mohito Bar!

Re: Strictly Sail Miami impressions

Change the name from Gunboat to "anything else" and would the line still be there? It's a great marketing name that draws them in but how many of the people in line were potential buyers vs "I saw the gunboat"?
