Strictly Sail Miami

What is the slowest day at Strictly Sail Miami? One would think Premier Day would be slowest at $30 per person (compared to $16 per day or $30 for any other two non-Premier days). Is that so? Maybe Monday, as it's the last day and most people are back to work?

Strictly Sail

We go almost every year to Strictly Sail and have been there on varying days. Saturday is the most crowded, but even at that, not so bad. Not bad at all. I would honestly say it doesn't matter what day you visit. I'm not as sure about the yacht/power boat areas because we always go to the sail area. I think the weekends have more seminars if you're interested in those. We'll be there next month...maybe we'll see you there!

Bike dealers at the show?

Anyone know of dealer(s) exhibiting/selling boat friendly bikes i.e.- folding bikes, other than West Marine, Defender, etc.

I telephoned Citizen Bikes in Dania (like their Barcelona model) this morning. They are not exhibiting nor even aware of the show dates. ( a business opportunity for someone else ?!?)

After scouting the vendor list on the Miami Shows homepage - I'm left without an obvious vendor of bikes.

Anyone aware of a bike vendor exhibiting at show?

Thanks for your assistance.

I know the vendor list is far from complete so you may be in luck.

Mermaid,
There has been a lot of discussion regarding the folding bikes. I too thought I needed a pair for our boat. Many decided that a standard bike with real size wheels was a more swatifying solution but make sure it has quick release wheels and handlebars so it can become quite compact. Invest in an airline type transport bag and keep it cleaned an oiled all over to prevent rust. the reduced size of such a bike is not much different than a folding bike. You might find this bike used if you are persistant. A great source at reasonable price is Bike Nashbar in Akron (on line) They also have great service techs on the phone to help with special needs. Have a nice ride.

Howey in the Hills. Man now there's a town whose name you don't hear very often.

Monday is always the slowest day at the show and the best day for parking. Most of the vendors are hoarse by then but they'll still be more than happy to talk. The show is back at Bayside this year. It will be interesting to see who shows up and who doesn't after last years debacle and with so many vendors threatening to not come back.
Of course Saturday is the most crowded but then there's always the free after show party thrown by Latts and Atts. Free beer and pizza for all, with great raffle prizes.

Stop by my booth and say Hi.

(Cheap plug here: We will be raffling off a Spectra watermaker at the party)
