Status of ssca.org website

Did the SSCA miss their registrar's domain expiration notification? It seems ssca.org is no longer in DNS. Or is it just another domain hijacking by some pirate hacker in Somalia who thinks piracy on the high seas is a harder way to make a buck?

The SSCA website is down for server maintenance. We should be back in operation by Saturday, Aug 9.

Yes, the SSCA website (in fact, apparently, their whole server) is down for maintenance and is late coming back on line. This affects all ssca.org email addresses and the discussion board. The SSCA is run by a very small staff of employees and many volunteers. We just need to be patient. This has happened before (last year about this time of year if I recall), and they came back up late then too. No doubt, they ran into some issue they hadn't anticipated. Doesn't that happen regularly to you? I'm sure they'll be back online as soon as possible. And maybe they'll have a better plan to redirect traffic the next time.

They're not a high-tech, global solutions, shift the paradigm, kind of organization... ha ha ha

I remember going to their office in Ft Lauderdale (my wife used to collect their rent for the landlord) and they are literally about 5 people in a small office with a ton of great cruising literature sitting around. Very nice and friendly, but they can't be expected to have 100% uptime.
