Well......seems that cup holders at the helm , were about the only thing that was a glaring oversight . Silvergirl was absolutely flawless on the trip . And the san juans were a blast . Caught lots of crab , beautiful weather , not much wind -but nice out !!!! Doe bay on orcas island was cool , anchored in the bay and went ashore for dinner , live blue grass music , and nekit hot tubs . Aleck bay was a great little anchorage , that was full of crab , threw the pot over , and there was 18 big dungeness crab in less than an hour . The friends we met up there , didn't have such a good trip.......crab pot wound up in the prop ary neah bay , and put their 38 foot seawind catamaran on the rocks at spencer spit . They hauled out in anacortes , and after they got the estimate of $ 10, 000 to fix the hull , they took the train home . We had to motor all the way home , no wind at all , but she made about 9 knots almost all the way . Went from neah bay to west basin in just about 20 hours . Great trip ! Coast guard cutter stopped us , and made us change course to make room for a nuclear sub and two escort ships making their way up the straights of san juan defuca . We weren't in their way , but either they liked my wife's short shorts , or they want lots of space for them navy boys . Oh yeah , thanks for the bucket tip , lots of uses besides rinsing all the mud from the anchor of the bow
