So far things are fine. Just keep it civil, relevant and not too political.

There was a news story a few years ago about how Seal Team 6 was named. The commander picked it, skipping several numbers in between, just to keep the other guys spending a lot of resources trying to track the other non-existent units.

Maybe I'm just cynical but does anyone find it funny that this occured on the night the prez was giving his state of the union adress in an election year.

Re: SEAL Team 6

Well done the lads. Every hostage recovered is one less likely to be taken in the future.
It's our political weakness that has lead to Piracy. No will to help others in need, no will to sort out weak governments, just keep on paying the bribers so they buy our arms.
Finally a single act in the right direction by a group of nations that formed a task force to do something.
There's a balance in civilisation between the rights of the free individual and those who would infinge them. I've just got to work out if it's the politico's or the bandits that are the worst.
Well done the Seals.

It takes a while to train/practice for an operation of this type. Usually building mockup of villages or building or whatever. Then choreographing and practicing every move.

Then you wait for the opportune moment to strike. In this case I believe it was the deteriorated health of the hostage that triggered the go signal.

Always seems to be an election year around here. No mater when this took place one could claim a right to cynicism and humor.

I prefer to think this action is non partisan, and certainly in no way connected to an election campaign. I'd think this regardless of which party is in power.
