SAILOR'S & CRUISER'S RENDEVOUS N.E. FLORIDA

I am from the San Francisco Bay Area, and watched Charlie, and David put together a fun time. I am thinking we too here in the N.E. area of Florida could put together something?

We don't all have the quick access to the water like the sailors in S.F., but maybe we could do a land meeting. Get to put faces with screennames, do some eating, and talk sailing?

Just tossing out an idea.....any takers?

Hey Captain Frolic -- I'm game.

I'm landlocked in Gainesville right now. My significant other lives aboard his boat and he's over in the Florida Panhandle. I lived in San Francisco for 4 years back in the mid '80s.

I've been to your marina to check it out. That's some heavy-duty docking!

Our plan is to trade in the motor vessel (48' Hi Star) and get a cruising catamaran.

Anyway --- It would be fun to meet some of the other CF folks. I think there are a few in the area.

WOW...SAILORGAL

That's great, I am thinking I am kind of central, and we have a wonderful facility here with a large crew lounge. Then again I am open for suggestions.

Where in the city did you live? I was on snob hill, Twin Peaks, Noe Valley, The Marina and for the life of me I can't remember the neighborhood just east of the mission....something hill?

Well this is a great start already.....lololololol

What time of the year are you talking about? I'm only down there from the middle of November on. Thanksgiving is good. Meet in Fernandina Beach. Green Cove Springs is kinda out of the way.

I think when we get some more input we can come up with a timetable. The more the merrier as my wife says. My only day off is Sunday. Besides that where, and when doesn't matter to me. Thanks for the reply Rick!

You can count me in, but don't wait too long, I plan to leave in the fall!

I would also like to selfishly suggest Hurricane Patty's in St. Augustine for a meeting place, so that I can stumble back to the boat afterwards.

Everything is open in the way of suggestions. I am sure we can find a convenient place for all, and the reason I suggested my marina is the facility. We could BBQ, be on the river, the club house has a/c, large tv, kitchen, heads, tables outside, and of course I was thinking potluck. I am all up for a restaraunt though. We we choose a restaraunt then I am also up for a Sat. night!

imagine2frolic,
I am game. Your place sounds fine. I think it must be a Saturday because some of us still work. You set the date and time. If you are looking at a state meet and greet the location might need to be changed. If you are thinking of a NE Fl and South Ga meet and greet I think your marina is fine. Some how we need to keep this in view so all CB members in the area can see it.

Scallywag,

If need be we can just give it a bump once in awhile to keep it at the top, but already we have several responses. I think this can be a fun, and informative. I think the date, time, and place will fall in place as people reply. Thanks for replying....John

I did not know if the moderators had an area or a method to accomplish keeping it posted. Yes, I agree. The date, time, and place will fall into place.

Scallywag,

My only day off is Sunday, and yes I too work again.....lolololol If it is a Sunday we can make it an afternoon meal, so folks have time to get home.

I am also open to a restaraunt if it is a Saturday evening.

I have also sent out several PM's to people close by.......

John,

You have already been counted in.....lol

About the post mistake. Those kind of things help keep me humble when ever I think I am smarter than I really am.
