Re: Sailor Lost Contact SV Celebration (Pacific)

looking at richard's track, it seems he could well be in the void -- the area in pacific wherein no communication is possible.
as he is drifting and without communications it could be a while before we hear from him. i hope that june 26 he appears in hiva oa magically and lets us all know what went on during his incommunicado time.

Re: Sailor Lost Contact SV Celebration (Pacific)

ali said the search is not going yo be resumed.
i think that 4 hours with the last 2 hours cancelled due to maintenance issues is not long enough searching.
however, is how it is.
i HOPE he appears in hiva oa.
if i hear anything i will post.

Re: Sailor Lost Contact SV Celebration (Pacific)

I was thinking about this story today, and decided to check back in. I am still hoping for a good resolution.

Earlier today someone posted a few pictures to the Facebook page of who I believe is this man's wife. This pictures apparently show a boat washed up on a beach 15 miles south of Acapulco.

I do not want to speculate, but also want to make sure someone in the family see's the post (not sure how often they check FB).

Below is a link to one of the photos.

Re: Sailor Lost Contact SV Celebration (Pacific)

EGB, that is not richards boat.
he has a union 36 no sprit. green trim and canvas an d covers.
nope that woodie aint richards.
he is missing in south pacific, so alcaputo is well out of his ability to drift, and 3 weeks early for returning to mexico instead of heading to
marquesas. .

Re: Sailor Lost Contact SV Celebration (Pacific)

his anticipated eta was june 26. the last search didnot find him despite following the course they tracked. is a strange situation. i do hope someday he is found, healthy bearded and living in a coconut tree.
