sailing for charity? for a good cause

Any boat or people out there sailing or using their boat for Charities, for helping isolated communities, children in difficulties
..ect..
but not a religious "bunch" or "mob" , not misionaries or others stuff like that ..
just few generous peoples who sail and used their boat and skill to and give back to others too..

openess , awarness,communication is the future
i am happy to come and join a crew with altruisme ideologies , but not religious of any sort.
my boat is too small to sail away ,for my everydays living and i can provide for myself by renting my house,
But i am free of any comitments and I have skills and plenty of times for a good cause

maybe i am a dreamer , but it must be some generous people out there..

I don't do it but I do know it has pretty much dies out as a concept here in the UK. Health and Safety want to get involved in your plans, the boat has to be brought up to full commercial charter specification even though you are doing it for nothing etc, etc

No, but as a rule we try to do a volunteer project wherever we go...

St. Mary's, GA - cleaned up a public park and pulled weeds
Charleston, SC - Cancer Society Hospice House
New Bern, NC - United Way cleanup, gardening, maintenance
Annapolis, MD - Ronald McDnald House, read to children, played guitar, told jokes

just a few from last year...

We want to give back to each community along the way.

I believe the west coast sailors contribute a lot to Mexico's children, and small town needs. I have read a ton of information through Latitude38 over the many years.

I think unless it was part of some large organisation, in my little part of the world nowadays fellas would be too damned scared to offer anything like this in case it was misinterpreted or later looked at in a funny light.....
