Plymouth rediscovered

No, we're not talking about the place with the rock, nor the original location. We're talking about the wheat schooner Plymouth, whose name we may have forgotten but whose effect on the history of boating we have not. The Plymouth was run down by the steamship Northern Indiana on Lake Erie in 1852. (and if anyone has a NY Times subscription, I'd dearly love a copy of that original article...)

Following the accident there was a protracted lawsuit that resulted in some of the concepts that we take for granted today: motor craft must give way to sail, over taking craft must give way to that overtaken.

Yesterday the Great Lakes Historical Society announced the 2007 discovery of the wreck of the Plymouth in conjunction with Cleveland Underwater Explorers Inc.

Can anyone find the legal case online? The Northern Indiana was owned/operated by the Michigan Southern and Northern Indiana Railroad, who fought being responsible for the total loss of the Plymouth and her cargo of wheat.
