Since she isn't from this forum, she'll think a sextant is something she needs to order from "Adam&Eve" for the cruise.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

I just joined the "other" cruiser forum that SamandSally found before they got off on their 4 month circumnavigation. Wow 1.5 million posts and 780,000+ members and my 2 posts have been ignored. When by myself at sea, never feel alone, but among that many folks that enjoy the sea, but no contact, I do feel alone.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

I changed my avatar on the cruise ship forum to my old CMA grad picture, now I'm getting some traction over there.

It would be nice to cruise and let others do all the work, no 0000~0400 watch standing, or being stuck in port off loading containers.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

some peopel put their "dress clothes" in a bag under the matress, but I have a hanging bar between the bandsaw and the drill press. In warmer weather I have hanging space behind the wood stove too

No authority in their world, I don't know the quality of wines other than cork, cap, or bag in a box.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

Seriously Sara, their forum isn't a bad idea for you because in that roll call section you just might be able to hook up with others that share your reference to cruising that you will meet on your particular cruise. Have you found your cruise on the Roll Call? Yes, I'm "deckofficer" on there, and all the other forums I'm active on.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

I found ya already ; -)

I'm Sara(fina) most places as well.

I have hooked up with the roll call. Only 2 others on it right now, but that may change. I am reading like crazy and using the good info I am getting to plan the port day excursions.

I am also getting a better feel for how things work aboard the ship. How to get the most out of the experience.

But I have to say, over all the people are not appealing much to me... Nuttin wrong with them. Just don't share many common views with most of em.

Re: Packing for 4month cruise

I found you too. Boy you sure killed a lot of threads. I would be happy to engage you in conversation over there so others that might share your perspective come out of the woodwork and you will know who the "like souls" are on that July cruise. I did enjoy the fact you and your 18 year old daughter can swap clothes, that is handy on a cruise.
