Our Big Move Will Probably Happen a Lot Sooner than Later

Things are starting to fall into place a lot sooner than expected

My husband is loosing his job at the end of November, my youngest is leaving the nest in January at the latest, we will do the final renovations in the house in November so we can get the best price possible for it when we'll sell it. All we need now is a boat so we can move on it and sail to the Caribbeans.

We still have a few things to do like scan our important documents, do our coastal and celestial navigation, find a new home for our big dog and one of our 1 of our 4 cats. Two are going with my daughter and one is coming with us.

At first, we won't take the biggest boat even if we would like a Catalina 42 or a catamaran since we would need to finance it too much... But then again, we are in a buyer's market so maybe we could get the big boat right away. It will all depend on how much we can get for our house and who would be willing to finance us.

I am getting to be so excited!!!

Hope all goes well, it sounds so exciting. One step at a time... Get this beginning right and the rest should follow.

It will be done right, that is for sure. I don't beleive the house will sell before next spring, so we might have to live on one of our sailing's club for a little while before we purchase our boat. We are taking our sailing classes at the club so we would take the 104 and 106 courses in the spring before heading down south.

The day we will board our boat will be such a sweet day!!

Sounds like some good plans.

I like kicking an anchor or two while looking, hopefully it is something you'll enjoy. Kick an anchor or two, take a test sail or three and remember it isn't just a boat, it will be your home!

I am right with you Missou. Our house goes on the market in March and we are already selling stuff off with a target to head off in 593 days; not that I am counting.
