Re: One More Harbor Dropping Dye Markers in Holding Tanks

that storm the man hole cover blew outside our house, sewage backed up street level, basement rooms of our home flooded...

can you say yuck?

good news is the back up in our basement was runoff from the backyards in our block that weren't draining because the downstream was overloaded so at least I wasn't sump pumping the yuck stuff. It stayed out in the street...

since then the whole sewer main has been replaced in our area and we haven't had a repeat... But I still check water levels during heavy storms, just in case.

*fingers crossed*

I am all for keeping your backyard as clean as possible and it's everyone's responsibilities to do so.. You will always have the few knuckle heads that just don't care or boat so rarely that it is purely a holiday, "so what" attitude.. I've noticed that the vast majority of cruisers are beyond careful and respectful of their waterways, as it is their home..

But, I'm not cool with draconian laws that people just make up, without your involvement to vote on it, and then pass it and expect you to know everything about it and follow it, after the fact. Especially when the governments and huge corporations are violating those laws a million times a day without any attention.. It's always the little guy that gets the most attention.. frustrates me...

Ours is a Vacuflush freshwater system and we use a digesting chemical in it that is a very dark blue.
Wonder how that will effect us?
We boat out of Newport Beach.

Storm drains and Sewer drains are not connected. They are separate systems.
Not necessarily. A number of older systems are combined.
a storm can put so much water in the system they have to flush out raw sewage.

Cat Harbor on Catalina AKA Hepatitis Harbor.
So many boats moor there with no holding tanks.
