Obsessed Turkish sailor's seven-month voyage to Britain in tiny yacht

This story had me saddened, fascinated, horrified and impressed, all at the same time.

That is not love. That is an infatuation which has nothing to do with true love. Were she in the US nothing short of a restraining order would be called for. My sympathy is with her, not him.

He needs to find a woman who will love him in return and it's not her.

Less Turkish delight and more Midnight Express. Imagine the smell of him and his vessel.

Sad, if an impressive (and probably accidental) piece of seamanship to go south to north in Biscay in a 16 foot cuddy sailboat.

If the UK Border Agency manage to deport him it will likely be the first person this year that they haven't lost.......

Nutty as a fruitcake, but you got to admit, he's a decent sailor to do it in a 16 foot boat.

Wow, Shame. He is a handsome chap, motivated small boat sailor - except for the stalking thing Id say he would have a better chance than most on the Caribbean reproduction circuit...

edit: ummmm...take that back - just looked at the first pic, the rest - not so much...no he would have been punching above his weight chasing that girl...rewind all statements

Wow. Poor Courtney.

The sea has claimed so many wonderful and skilled people. And then this guy makes it through in that boat...

Re: Obsessed Turkish sailor's seven-month voyage to Britain in tiny yacht

Ahh cmon now - this passage is a real argument for the "bluewater threads" - not the boat - the skipper.

He could be a real contributing member to the forum - skiled sailor takes minature boat across oceans to Uk and then has trouble with Port Authority. SOunds like many threads. The stalker thing? No problem we have a forum for that - SSSSM...

I see the high speed RIB of the port authority but am confused. Where is the 50 cal machine gun?
