New Writings About Sailing

Hey Everyone

So, some folks I know and myself have been working on various projects here and there that I wanted to shine a little light on.

About a year ago a bunch of us congregated in Rio Dulce Guatemala for a week and held an event called the "DIY Sailboat Meetup." During the event we taught what we knew about sailing to our friends and each other along with holding events, races, daysails, and other such things. Recently someone submitted a writeup about the event if anyone wanted to hear about it.
The pdf is here: link
A text only version is here: link

From that event some of us continued to promote sailing amongst our circles and started a website to disseminate our various documenting efforts. This page is full of stories about mostly younger folks getting out to sea in the format of zines (small self-published magazines), interviews, videos, articles, and articles. Hopefully it'll prove entertaining to folks who take the time to read it:
Currents Against Us (the "releases" tab)

Hope this is interesting to some folks on the forum, and perhaps provides more information for those who were in Rio Dulce at the time of the aforementioned event.

Thanks
-steve

Re: New writings about Sailing

Looks like you put together a really good event. I liked the photos and the event schedule seemed nice. This part of the world has definitely made it to my visit list. Probably a sooner visit rather than a later one.
