no worries! as they say a picture speaks a thousand words!

good idea on starting your own thread, remember to post lots of photos.

i remember when i built my first boat at the tender age of 20 in the 80's how little information there was on actual techniques involved, glues, materials etc, consequently the boat ended up bullet proof!,
these days i try to use a more minamilistic approach with weight and cost a major consideration, and also speed of build.

from experiance most 30 year old ply wood interiour boats need stripping out,so there is no point in building it to last 50 years, unless it is a wooden classic!

will post some photos of the toilet installation over the next few days.
cheers atoll

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina-ous' Crew

well the wonders of the internet!

found a brand new par jabsco toilet online last night at half price, turns out it was at the chandelery 6 miles from me!

after a few phone calls picked it up and now have it in me greasy little paws on the boat,no waiting a week for ebay to gazump it,win it and delivery!

photo of the appeture that will become the toilet and shower over the next few days, and the "beast"

Wow! A lot of work has gone into her but you can really see the difference!

Great work atoll, i've been away from here for a while, just been really busy. How much more do you think you have got left to do?

not a lot more structural work once the toilet shower is finished.
need to fit 3 skin fittings and put in a bit of paneling and insulation for the 2 aft seaberths.

i have a 125 liter plastic water tank that needs fitting in the engine room,, another battery, connect up the water pump then it is just cosmetics inside.

outside i need to mount the winches again and find a pole for the wind generator, and maybe another coat of nonslip.

the i will put her to bed for the winter and move onto the big boat refit!

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina-ous' Crew

That's a pretty small boat to fit a shower in. I'm waiting to see how that works.

It may give me some ideas.

Looking good so far!

the shower is the easy part!,building and fitting the wood burner with lava rocks on the back side,so the shower doubles up as a sauna is a bit of a challenge!

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina-ous' Crew

nearly there!
progress was slowed by torrential rain from hurricane nadine, that slowly drifted across the uk as an extra tropical low.

prefabricated a lot of stuff in the work shop,
all the toilet interiour surfaces got tissue and resin coated, then gelcoated, epoxying it all together in the next few days.

hope you like the photos!

What kind of head room do you have in there?
