Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina-ous' Crew

Just for giggles, what clearance do you have between the head and the other side, in order to get forward? Looks to be about 14-15 inches.

I wish I had the money to take her off your hands!

Just out of interest, what's her name and do you have any photos?

i think it is 36 cm,so about 14 inches,i plan on keeping the "V" open in the fwd cabin, and fitting a small wood burning stove about 30x30cm on the back side of the toilet bulkhead.

fairly tight, but this is why Royal marine commando's are under 6 ft!,ww2 submarine hatches were a simmilar size!

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina-ous' Crew

the complete box!
i now have toilet/shower compartment,i love it when you can feel the air resitance as you close the door!

finished epoxying in the pre-fabricated door and wall panels, all ready for the last bit of glass ,tissue and gelcoat behind the toilet base.

pipe work all in place under the floor, allready for plumbing in.

will have to dry out next week so i can fit the skin fittings between tides.

Great work Alex, one question, are you keeping the original cabin?

the fwd cabin is un- changed, and the new layout is more or less the same as what was once there,ie galley to port, and head to stb, what i have changed is to cut out the 2 midship bulkheads to make an open galley and space for the chart table.

this open plan layout design was found in later models of the macwester, structural integrity is maintained by the bulkheads still being in place, but leaving a 10cm "frame" around the cut out.
the toilet's external door and central bulkhead now double up as the mast support as well.

the cockpit is completely different due to all of the old moulding being completely cut out at some time in the past.

1st three photos are old,the next 3 with new layout
