Looking for cruising stats

Has anyone seen statistics from a reliable source (or reasonably realiable) on the increase in the number of "cruisers" over the years.

There's a post over at SSCA with some cruising stats. Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's the only thing I've seen.
