In this Day and Age . . .

From today's 'Lectronic Latitude, comes a truly horrific occurrence on a small atoll in the Republic of Kiribati.

* * *

"You see you're on course for a tiny, pork chop-shaped atoll in the Phoenix Island chain in the Republic of Kiribati, so you decide, 'What the heck?' and weave your way into the breathtakingly beautiful lagoon. What greets you is not a jolly, healthy tribe of islanders, but a rag-tag group of 24 malnourished, real-life castaways."

* * *

To read the entire report, go to:

Latitude 38 - 'Lectronic Latitude (scroll down to "Real Life 'Lost' ")

You might want to link this

Cruiser Saves Islanders

and the current thread. I'm glad that the cruiser did the right thing and helped those people.
