Imagine a broken boom

Imagine a broken boom. Now imagine taking the boom off, taking into the salon and repairing it. I mean rebuilding it. Now imagine taking the boom out of the salon and remounting it to the mast. Now imagine doing that all by yourself and with a broken rib. Think guts...

By the way, Rich Wilson, at 58 yrs old, will be only the second American ever to complete the Vendee Globe. It is expected that large crowds will be on hand to greet him when he reaches Le Sable d'Olonne, possibly on Sunday.
