Re: Human Slobs

No winter? Really? Tell that to the NE!

The truth beknown, as temp rises, so does evaporation. As evaporation rises, so does humidity As humidity...so does snow!

What stopped hitler and Napoleoooon was something called "logistics", not the weather per say. Logistics in sailing terms is means being careful to sail around logs in the water.

Maybe not.
New research claims that Napoleon’s Grand Armee wasn’t defeated so much by the severe Russian winter, and the clever tactics of Russian commander Field Marshall Khutuzow, but by a small insect, the louse.

Re: Human Slobs

The primary visible "debris" here is marine growth on boat hulls. Other stuff is relatively rare.

Exactly, and it was more often than not that the lowly louse, flies, and fleas killed more soldiers on campaign through typhus, cholera, and plague than did the arrows and bullets of the enemy. In the Crimean War the British Army lost about 4800 men killed or died of wounds in battle and 16,323 died from disease.

Re: Human Slobs

And rats are the first to desert sinking ships. Any chance of aiming this back at sailing and cruising folks?
