The real mystery of what really happened is still hidden from us. Fake news and crazy people and crazy PEOPLE.

It's also proof there are too many television channels with time to fill, plus internet channels, that anyone would give any time to these four dogs. Excuse me, two ladies and two dogs.

Still there after 11 days. And the comments keep flowing in. All pretty much saying the same thing we've been saying. I always like a happy ending.

Re: HI->Tahiti Dingbats found after 5 months

I hesitate to add to these clowns' 15 minutes of fame, but I have an update that I think will spread some cheer this holiday season.

It's been 25 days and their go fund me page remains at the initial $5.

Sort of restores my faith in mankind.

The comments on that page continue to run pretty much the way one would hope, without ONE single supporter yet. They're entertaining reading if you have some down time over the holidays.

Jennifer's last update (just 3 days ago) is a real gem, more blame and "corrections," although I do have to admit she's starting to own up to a couple of the lies that she just can't explain away.

She ends with "Help spread the word!"

Count on me Jennifer, I shall continue to do so!

Thanks for the update.
I was hoping someone would do the work for me.

I still have to stick with Hanlon's Razor here: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

Yes, I do believe these guys are really that stupid.

You can call them liars, but I call them simply clueless. After having watched a lot of YouTube videos and convincing themselves (at least Appel convinced herself and then her zero-experience deckhand who really knew no better) that she knew a few things. What they thought they knew was pretty much all wrong, as can be gleaned by just about any sailor watching their hilarious interview videos.

Perhaps they are guilty of exaggerations and boastful self-aggrandizing upon their exciting rescue. But that is typical of the Dunning-Kruger Effect.

Ahh, Dunning-Kruger. One of my favorites!
People who suffer from this disability are truly special:

"If you're incompetent, you can't know you're incompetent ... The skills you need to produce a right answer are exactly the skills you need to recognize what a right answer is."

Someone could do their thesis on the two dingbats.

Wow. I had not read that gofundme statement. It's pretty hard to pin down the truth with someone who has disengaged themselves from reality. And by the way, why were they sailing west to east of the south point of the Big Island? DOH! there I go, I got sucked into their vortex, didn't I? Sorry about that...

Re: HI->Tahiti Dingbats found after 5 months

I really liked how she said that the navy declared the vessel unseaworthy due to not being able to start the engine ( its called a sailboat for a reason) and the "typhoons" that were bearing down on them . All three of the typhoons that developed during the timeframe of the "rescue" were no where near the area they were found.
The typhoons were actually in the south China sea and made landfall in Vietnam.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoon_Damrey_(2017)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trop...m_Haikui_(2017)
https://www.accuweather.com/en/weath...ekend/70003301
All of which were at least a thousand miles west and traveling away from the dingbats position.

Re: HI->Tahiti Dingbats found after 5 months

Not to be Mt. Brightside, but I DID "learn" something about boats:
The head-dingbat stated that "a spreader is just like an axle in a car".
Now I know.

Using a gofundme campaign requires a category. Apparently there is no category for "In need of psychological help", so our favorite skipper chose the category "Emergencies". The only sub-categories for this are Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, Storms, Terrorism, Tornadoes, Tragedy. Sadly, I couldn't see an indication of her chosen sub-category. This was probably because ALL sub-categories applied....

We hit a tropical STORM that felt like an EARTHQUAKE when it scared us with a TORNADO (water spout) causing a FLOOD of tears until we were FIRED up to get towed by a fishing boat that then almost sank us in an act of TERRORISM at the very end of this TRAGEDY.

One must wonder how the karma police will treat these two after their failed attempt to jump the train of gofundme goodwill that is aimed at actual tragedy.
