Havre de Grace, MD Issues

I heard today that Havre de Grace, MD is having lots of problems with flooding and that boats left on moorings were being swept away due to excessive debris.

Our boat is on the Delaware at Delaware City and we surely had a record amount of debris come our way today. All the crabbers are moving their pots, yesterday afternoon you could see a long, long line of debris moving down the channel right between the red and green buoys.

Susquehanna River flooding: Conowingo Dam forces Havre De Grace evacuations - Baltimore Weather | Examiner.com

Quote:
As of Thursday evening, the water level was already at major flood stage measuring 31.68" with 41 gates opened. That has raised the water level higher than expected- much sooner for places like Havre De Grace seen here, and Port Deposit. Both have been under evacuation orders. By Sunday, there wil be 50 gates opened. This may destroy the waterfront that Havre De Grace lost and rebuild after Hurricane Isabel in 2003. This project was well over 1 million dollars. As you can see here, there it was already under water

Re: havre de grace, md issues

It happens in Baltimore Harbor often....It is all the lowlifes that use the storm sewers as trashcans.

Along the Susquehanna....it is all the junk that people dump at the rivers edge.

Susquahanna and others NE rivers had two 100 yr floods back to back. Stuff didn't have to be on the "edge" to be swept away.
