Greenline exploded

On 17th of June 2017 a Greenline 33 solar hybrid exploded in the habor of Minden Gremany. Seventeen people were injured mostly firefighters who tried to put out fire when they were alarmed because smoke comming from the boat. Some were severly injured.

After a huge explosion, the boat took fire and sank, the boat next to it was severly damaged. Other boats could be saved from the fire.

I do not see any newsarticle in the Englisch press about it.
It is the second Greenline solar exploding since 2012 in Germany.

The boat was equiped LiPo batteries. The owner reported about problems with the battery system.

Official reports about the cause have not been released yet.

TWO of the bloody things have blown up? good grief, considering that it isn't a big production marque, that's pretty scary.

Had a look at their website... electric drive gives max 5.5 knots, 4 knots cruise, range 20 nmi... and they are bragging about it??

I'm not likely to buy one...

Are these LiFePO4 batteries?

No they had the more dangerous LiPo Batteries.
