Forum Members Meet

Aloha All,
Stevek, Amgine and SkiprJohn were able to meet for nearly an hour on the 8th of September at the Wooden Boat Festival, Port Townsend, Washington. Subjects discussed were Cascade engine/transmission replacement, portlight replacement and single handing to Hawaii. Steve and John have Cascade 42s and Amgine has a Cape Dory 25. Amgine has done a circumnavigation around Vancouver Island in his 25.
Wouldn't you know? We all have beards and wire rimmed glasses. It was a good meeting and could well have lasted much longer but all needed to get on the road.
The festival was a wonderful event well worth traveling to.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

The boats were fabulous, the booths fascinating, the people were as diverse as you'll find on this forum.

I was glad that someone remembered to bring a camera; I was up and off the boat too early in the morning to remember half of what I should have had with. (Oh, and SteveK turns out to be a beer professional! talk about your great career moves...)

I went aboard about 20 boats and did not spend too much time in booths or at demonstrations. I did that 2 years ago. There was just too much stuff to see and do and I could have gone aboard another 20. My brother really liked the huge Chris Craft. It was fabulous. Wish I could go every year. Next year I'll be out east again either NC or VA.

Good to see you there and let me know when you'll be arriving Hilo.
