I'm not clear what you are implying. If they stole a $1,000 and killed the women onboard, would it not smell like foul play to you? As far as I can tell from the writeups, this is a typical pair of cruisers in typical cruising grounds that have gotten caught in a horrific personal event.

2 cents for that "opinion" Garrobito? I think you're overcharging.

And where is that typical at all? Pretty quick to blame the victim without anything to back it up.

We were in Isla Grande last year. We were immediately hit up by two different locals boats after we anchored to make seafood purchases. Another boat we know had their outboard stolen off the rail while anchored their a few weeks latter. If they were anchored in the normal spots there, then locals in the houses/restaurants/pensions onshore would have most likely seen something if they stayed onboard long. Sounds to me like a terrible, wasteful loss.

man.. was there one month ago.. nothing happened.. your experience is not the typical or mine... It's hard to judge from here what could happened... I was robbed one block from Times Square and I do not think it's a terrible place to visit... bad luck, that's all... whatever happened... six guys is more than enough to control a couple cruisers... or your gonna show resistance??? it's plain stupid... I suspect foul play... or wait! I have a better explanation... aliens come down and kill the cruiser!! oh yeah, I saw before.. greens, ugliest... yeah.. this things happened all the time at cruisers...

To buy seafood at gunpoint? In what way were you "hit up"?

Paul L,
This Garrobito character is reacting like many others with no knowledge of the situation. Laying blame on someone with no evidence. Sounds like he watches too much TV. I met this couple two or three times, and they seemed "typical" to me, in that they came and went to shore together, had drinks together, etc. I was shocked by her murder, and I have no reason to doubt that someone else was responsible, especially in light of their being no evidence, and the motivation for the local authorities to cover up any danger to cruisers.

Strange story/reporting at least. Any other cruisers in the Rosarios at the time who might have more info?

You must be reading a lot into the text actually written to find anything to do with guns on what I said. the point was that there are locals who are very aware of every cruiser that drops anchor there. The crab we bought was a decent price, if that makes any difference to you.

Things are becoming more fishy. First call by the husband came from a hotel and not the boat, according to the husband.

Dutch tourist's murder continues to confuse Colombia authorities

Yes, I am in contact with other cruisers in Colombia. I am waiting for more information, which I will post when I get something conclusive or seemingly trustworthy.
