Cruising to Nassau

We're heading to Nassau (Bahamas) the first of June via Bimini, Chub Cay. We'll be staying in Nassau a couple days before flying back ti U.S. Need suggestions on affordable places to stay, places of interest while there. Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jerry

For a not very affordable by any means but an interesting display of opulence take a stroll around the Atlantis complex. They have an interesting aquarium as well as the casino. The air you'll breathe is free everything else $$$, maybe the slowdown in tourism will have made things more reasonable.

Other off the beaten track activities:

Take the 10a jitney all the way around. You'll see the real Nassau.

Lunch or dinner at the Fish Fry.

If you want camp see the marching flamingos at Ardastra Gardens.

Dinner at Cafe Matisse.

If you're coming back and leaving the boat call Nick Wardle (242 362 2044) in Coral Harbor. Safe, secure dockage at his house on a canal. He watches the boat, will run the engine for you, gets ready for hurricanes if needed. He a little pricey, $500 per month for my 41 footer, but he's knowlegable and picky.
