Re: Containership Breaks in Half - Update and Images

So, what do people do if they find one of these containers floating closeby? Is there a recovery vessel of sorts? If you are in the middle of the ocean, do you sink it?

If ya have stuff to sink one of these containers, it would be a good idea, but I would not brag about it !! ya never know, some smart law dog might try to make ya pay for it !! I don't know, but then Im not a very trusting person ! LOL

No, you do not sink it, you get sunk by it.

;-)

Most sink by themselves. A small amount filled with very light stuff will float around for ever.

We know most sink because we can't see that many washed ashore, can we.

When you find one, you just stay well clear of it. You can report it to the CG, they will disseminate the info.

And, unfortunately, they do not get picked up, neither do they become a target for 'our navy boys'.

What are the legal ramifications of putting one or two 30-6 holes in a container so that it will sink?
Inquiring minds want to know!

1st pic shows two wave crests to hold the ship up while the end support comes and goes as the waves move through. Fatigue and only 8 years old.
