Somali Piracy

Yes, I'm glad they can get something out of it. But I doubt it will make it all worthwile, especially if they want to pay back their $1M ransom. The US has a Predator team operating in the Seychelles, but the birds weren't armed last we heard (& why not? They could have taken out the mother-ship...) Apparently the Brit military actually watched the piracy happen, & decided not to interfere for fear of hurting someone...

There was a German & his wife here in Langkawi who spent 56 days in captivity in Somalia (actually, Puntland). She, especially, was pretty shattered by the experience. They have no idea where their ransom came from. He said he had 90 seconds warning (heard their outboard screaming) which time he spent "loading his shotgun" (before throwing it overboard).
