CF Cruisers Win Trophy !

In exciting Cruising News: Cruisers Forum Members have shown their prowess in one of the sports most difficult and exciting races.

Each year prior to the ARC rally a dinghy race is sponsored by the Marina Fuel wharf.

This year Cruisers Forum was represented by Mojomo and Sea Life in a combined team - we could only steal one dinghy.

Matt MCT, Mojomo's owner and Moi were joined by Glyn off Mojomo and Caesar from Mollymawk. We trained hard at the bar the night before the big event and armed with flour bombs we lead the affray.

We can just be seen to the right of the hard white dinghy (cheating, we thought) with Matt in cool purple standing, Caesar filling the ammunition bucket and Glyn and I as the bow engine room and oar splashers.

All I can tell you is that CF was well represented and proof of our tenacity under fire is shown in the photo below.

Who gets to keep the trophy?

We should have it mounted at the top of the page!

I'm guessing you had to fill the cup a few times with champers to properly celebrate

If the photo is representative I'm guessing you had some very complex rules to master!

Congrats! Looks like fun!

Actually the trophy now resides on Sea Life. I am sailing back to Thailand forthwith to have it mounted in a glass cabinet next to the nav station.

"Hannah on 'Rita T: 'Well good on ya. And the trophy was for...? "

The Awards presentation was in Spanish so a little may have been lost in translation. I think it was something to do with not crying when other boats splashed us.

i just registered mark as skipper, for no particular reason. Well, ok, i thought it would be better if somebeody else got blamed for a change AND i wanted to use his dink for the race. Cept he retired Li'lDink dues it's over-relaince on surface tension. So we wangled Caesar into using his dink.

The trophy was awarded for flour-throwing, seasmanship, and (probably) just because Mark and I said special thanks to Pedro the fuel dock owner for organsising a great day of fun and silliness.

The highly valuable trophy resides with the skipper, as he has a better trophy cabinet and I have already got a boat full of tat.

An orange smoke flare.

Useless bloody things unless you can lob one into the cockpit of the searching Coast Guard vessel.

But great for these sort of events
