Got love it when the sick minds of CF get together.

On a serous note, I remember being told in our life guard classes that the majority of male drowning victims in Canada are found with their fly open.

Re: Cautionary tale: falling overboard while peeing

I not only pee off the transom while underway, When I wake up in the middle of the night I go outside to pee when on the hook, too. Wouldn't do it in a marina, or in view of people of course. I take the opportunity at night to check the boat. I have my favorite spots, with the main one being where I can get a good arm lock on a dinghy davit and my thighs are braced against a lifeline. It's solid. I like the lee shroud idea but that doesn't work on my boat. I'd have to build up too much pressure to reach the water from there. And while that could be fun, there's that decreasing pressure dribble to deal with. Easier to be close enough to the edge not to have to worry about bioballistics.

Ashore, one of my criteria for buying property to live in has always been that it had to have a back yard where I could pee on a tree without offending any neighbors. As for the PC wannabe crowd, well, if you're telling me that on a day at the beach, you'll climb out of the ocean, walk up the beach, and go to a public restroom to urinate...there's really not much hope for you. Why would you choose to pollute and waste several gallons of fresh water to make your own water travel a longer path back to the ocean, which is where it's going anyhow.

People too uncoordinated to hang onto a boat and pee at the same time.....well....there are safer hobbies for the physically handicapped you know.

If I'm on nite watch, I may not want to disturb those sleeping below. If I am on a short day sail in a boat with a clean holding tank, I may not want to dirty it. If I am on a smaller boat without a head, I may have few other options.

We can however supply you with Official "C.F." approved no peeing signs.

I always pee over the side coming into a new port, kind of my way of saying "Howdy".
