"Body Found Inside Bahamas Shark Identified as that of Missing Sailor

"By Shekhar Riat on September 16, 2010

"Investigators believe that they have identified the human remains found inside a tiger shark caught by a amateur fisherman earlier this month.

"Police say that fingerprint tests indicate that the remains belong to Judson Newton, a cargo ship sailor who disappeared as he tried to swim to shore after his recreational fishing boat stalled."

Judson Newton, a 43-year-old sailor and part-time chef, was on a boating trip with friends off "Jaws Beach*" on New Providence island (Bahamas) when the vessel had engine trouble. Three people remained on board while Newton and a friend (Franklin Roosevelt Brown) swam to shore. Neither was seen again and they were presumed drowned. There's still been no sign of Brown, though authorities fear he may have met the same demise.

It's called that because parts of the film Jaws were shot there.

Well, at least credit the shark for recovering the body. That's cheaper than paying the fire department or the Coasties to do the same thing.

When we travelled in the deserts of Arabia, the number one rule was to stay with the car if it broke down in the desert. Your chance of survival was zero if you tried to walk out of the desert.

The same is true for yachts. Stay with the yacht until it sinks out from under you.
