| Capsize off the New Jersey Coast
The weather was pretty challenging in the Atlantic east of New Jersey on Friday. A solo sailor ventured out in winds reportedly blowing 40-55 kts, and suffered a capsize. He was rescued after spending 15 hours overnight atop his boat's floating hull. I wonder about his decision to set out in that kind of weather, but his excellent judgement in having a survival suit aboard most certainly saved his life. The water temperature was 58 F.
